Scheduled backup job is failing

511874Dec 2 2008 — edited Dec 3 2008
Hi all.
I've set up a scheduled backup job (*full database offline backup*) from EM (Maintenance->Scheduled Backup->Whole Database Customized Backup).
It worked untill 5 days ago... Now it's failing but from Backup Reports I can see two jobs are failing:
their backup names are "2008-12-01T21:00:37" and "BACKUP_DWHDB32_000_120108083001", both DB FULL type.
The first is the job who performed successfull backups starting from the 2nd of November;
the second started from the 26th of November and always failed.

I don't remember why I created the second one but the first starts at about "8:31:12 PM", the second at about "9:00:55 PM". One backup should be completed in 45 minutes.
From details of Backup Reports I cannot read any informations about the jobs: "Job output is no longer available in the database control file."

Where I can obtain informations about this jobs ? I've executed this query but those jobs are not here:
select * from all_scheduler_jobs
where schedule_type 'ONCE'

You can click on the tab JOBS.
Then you will see the summary of your job.
You can click Show on the backup script to see what you are doing.

Based on your timelines, it sounds like one job is running into the other. I suggest you "stop" the 2nd job and see if the first one completes successfully.

Thanks for your reply rodneyli, but unfortunately those jobs are not showed in Administration->Jobs (Database Scheduler) link

Moreover.. I know what my job should do.. I would like to know why it's failing ... Do you have other suggestions ?

At first I thought the same, but I think the second job should not ever run because the database should be mounted in restricted mode for backup... if this is not correct the second job could stop the first one.. but at least the second job should be completed successfully.

Your suggestion is right and it's just what I would like to do.. but I didn't find where those jobs are...!!!

I created them from EM.

Other suggestions ?

Ok... Tonight the first backup job completed successfully its script.

Yesterday I've seen some errors about listeners problem so I've simply reloaded them (I'm on a RAC database).
One problem anyway is still there:
how can I find those jobs ? I would like to stop the second one.

Thanks
