It seems to me that the problem in shared disk. Could you tell me, pls, how to make RAC with a storage on GFS. :?
I've made one GFS2 LogVol and mounted at /oracle with 4 dir: shared_config, shared_ocr, shared_data, shared_home.
Also I've made links (ln -s) for this shared directories from /u01.
Exp: /oracle/shared_config -> /u01/shared_config, /oracle/shared_ocr -> /U01/shared_crs /u01/app/crs/product/11.1.0/crs, /oracle/shared_home -> /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1, /oracle/shared_data -> /u01/oradata
Red Hat GFS now supported with Oracle RAC!
I'm not saying you might get this to work esp. if this is NOT a production cluster - however GFS suport was only done by Redhat for 9i and 10g RAC
see here :
Also Metalink article : 329530.1 discusses this in more detail
Have you tried to initialize that storage?
dd if=/dev/zero of=<gfs> bs=1024
Try to that from both nodes
