why i am getting "System error 1060 has occured" error.

    662340
I make the weblogic server10.3 instance as winows services. In the domain i created,i have only the Adminstrative server.
now it is running as background service.in Administrative tols/services i got the service name.
by right clicking service i went to properties.
my service name is" beasvc base_domain_AdminServer".this is the service name and also disply name.here both are same.

At command prompt i gave net start first. from there only i copy the service name which is running and gave as argument to NET STOP .then i am getting getting the error "System error 1060 has occurred. The specified service does not exist as an installed service."which is shown below.
you can see my execution at command prompt below:

Did you really provide as the argument to "net stop" a string whose last character was a newline? I can't tell whether it just displayed like that, or whether that's really the value you provided. Make sure you have no additional white space before the closing quote.

Is this a headless box? If not, what happens when you bring up the Services dialog and try to do this through the GUI?

It may be a sacrilege to resurrect a two year old thread, but I had this problem and found the answer. In my case I thought the name of my service was "WLS_FORMS". What I didn't know was that there was an extra space at the end of the name.

I reformatted my net start command as:

                net start "WLS_FORMS "

and windows was merrily starting my service. Note the quotes around WLS_FORMS and the space between the S and the last quote.
