Hi,

Does anybody know how to remove "manually" (without using the GUI of EM) a blackout added with the following command (added by the agent):

D:\logiciels\Oracle\agent10g\BIN> emctl start blackout <blackout name> ...

I know I can remove it using the EM Grid but I would like to remove it in a script.

Thank's

Blackout Usage :
emctl start blackout <Blackoutname> [-nodeLevel] [<Target_name>[:<Target_Type>]].... [-d <Duration>]
emctl stop blackout <Blackoutname>
emctl status blackout [<Target_name>[:<Target_Type>]]....

Do you get any errors?

What is the status of the blackout?
emctl status blackout [<Target_name>[:<Target_Type>]]....

Now, with emclt status, I don't see the blackout "test_black" but I can't see it in the GUI of the EM GRID with the status "Ended".

Now, how I can remove it with a command line like "emctl" (not by EM Grid) ?

Thank's

Did you mean,You can still see the blackout in the console with status "Failed" ?

If that's not the case, then you issue is fixed.

check this..

Problem: EM Shows a Blackout as Being 'Active' Despite Being Stopped at Management Agent side

Hi,

No, I mean I can still see the blackout in the console (EM Grid) but with the status "*Ended*" (not failed). I just want that the blackout don't appear in my GRID. I know I can't delete it directly in the GRID but I try to do it by a script (prompt command lile "emctl"). Maybe it's not possible...

If I made a "emctl status blackout ...", the blackout don't appear. It seems OK.

I looked at the link you sent but it's not my case. I didn't have error when I stopped the blackout.

Thank's

This will be available in 11g.
Maybe it's not possible...
could be. I'm not sure if this is the expected behaviour.
Can you try recreating the blackout with the same name and try stopping it again.

I got your point. Right now you can't removing the blackout via emctl and the only way is to delete from GUI.

Hi,

Yes, I can start it again ...

D:\logiciels\Oracle\agent10g\BIN>*emctl start blackout test_black DEV1_TRACB:oracle_database -d 00:05*
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 3 Grid Control 10.2.0.3.0.
Copyright (c) 1996, 2007 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Blackout test_black added successfully
EMD reload completed successfully

D:\logiciels\Oracle\agent10g\BIN>

... and I'm able to stop too ...

D:\logiciels\Oracle\agent10g\BIN>*emctl stop blackout test_black*
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 3 Grid Control 10.2.0.3.0.
Copyright (c) 1996, 2007 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Blackout test_black stopped successfully

D:\logiciels\Oracle\agent10g\BIN>

So, It seems that I can start a blackout with a name that already exist (I'm a bit surprise about that). It fixed partially my problem ... So I can still see the blackout "*test_black*" in the GUI of EM Grid with the status "*Ended*" ...

This is expected.

Are you using "emcli" to create the blackouts?

No,

I am using emctl (I don't know about "*emcli*" and anyway, it doesn't exist on Windows Oracle 32 bits, 10.2.0.3).
