EBS R12 and using database Flashback features

I am wondering if anyone has tried to use the flashback query/table features with EBS R12 on 10.2.x database.

Typically, during implementation, we would perform numerous iterations of data conversions. Each time we perform a major conversion, we would have to start with a base line backup of say the gold instance and perform the necessary steps. This obviously involves downtime since a clone would need to be created etc.

I am thinking out loud here...if say you could flash back to a point before the conversion, then in theory, you can perform multiple iterations of conversions without significant downtime.

      Thoughts? Has anyone tried this?
