Did not anyone, not anyone think of this simple feature during design time?

If there are many people who want to use it but aren't allowed to, how is this reflected in the rate? Don't you think that the fear uncertainty and doubt spread by the metalink going away campaign might severely skew this data? Could it be that only us old fogies are complaining but that doesn't accurately reflect the wider reality? How do you know I've rejected it, since I have it installed and sometimes use it to see if it works?
We are tracking Flash adoption. Our data shows that the rejection rate is extremely low.
I agree that VPN in itself carries a performance penalty. Client side processing can actually free you up from the server-side and network constraints. As my previous response stated, The My Oracle Support dashboard is fully configurable and you can add or delete regions per your preference and configuration. Once you load the dashboard, you save round trips across the network for the duration of the session. We also cache content so that subsequent download and access is faster than the initial one. You can do less upfront by configuring the dashboard to load only the regions you want to display.I can't speak to this, as I don't use it much after finding it gave incorrect output, which I pointed out but haven't seen if there was any response, since I don't want to use it. Also, at least one of my postings simply didn't post so I gave up.
Oracle needs be proactive about providing help for performance improvements. As I informed Rory earlier, some performance tips and tricks will be posted to this forum.Which also means it is impacted by corporate policies beyond our control. It is completely unacceptable if it turns out I have to change settings every time I log in or conflicts with other concurrent programs.
Response Times and performance can also be impacted by your desktop configuration, wi-fi speed, flash browser configuration (for resolution, caching, amongst other things).
