Using MICR in XMLP is like using any other special font (i.e. barcode). Please see below some link on how to have the fonts(MICR) working on your templates. Also, you could buy fonts but may want to try first on the MICR font shipped with the BI Publisher Desktop (i.e. C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts).1 person found this helpful
Thanks so much for this information. This is exactly what I needed.
I have tried the standard MICR.ttf provided by Oracle as part of BI Publisher. In the PDF Preview mode, I can see some of the correct font formatting. However, when I created a check through oracle, it did not format the fonts correctly.
I have created/uploaded the fonts in XML Publisher Admins as suggested by the links provided by you. Is there any step that I am missing?
So you are not getting the micr font in Oracle output? If yes, double-check if you have set the following correctly (from step9?)
Font Family - the exact same name of the font in MS Word
Note: Difference in the name will cause the font from not being picked at runtime
Style – must match the setup of the physical font
Weight – must match the setup of the physical font
Thanks so much. The MICR fonts are working now.
The only other thing that I need to know is how to get those special characters which print before and after the check number and routing number. If anyone can send me a sample, that's be great.
I have not finished testing yet and haven't created any setup document. Please write to me after few weeks, by which time I hope to finish testing.
