Upgrade Oracle Client from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3

723148Sep 17 2009 — edited Jan 29 2010
I'm new to the administrator side of the Oracle DB. I've installed an oracle 32-bit client 10.2.0.1 on MS Server 2003 x64. With the client I can connect (SQL PLUS) to the Oracle 10.2.0.3 DB x64 (resides on unix server) just fine.

Now I want to upgrade the client to 10.2.0.3. I've downloaded the client patch here:
Version 10.2.0.3
Instant Client Package - Basic:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/oci/instantclient/htdocs/winsoft.html

I can't seem to find upgrade documentation anywhere. The patch download just contains *.jar and *.dll files.

Do I have to reinstall client?
Do I point to newly extracted files?
Do I move the files to current oracle home?

I need help ASAP! Thanks for your help.
