For the first problem
Check the alert_<sid>.log placed in the background_dump_dest location
Windows could not start the OracleDBConsoleorcl on local computer. For more information review the System Event Log. If this is a non microsoft service,contact the service vendor , and refer to service specific error code 1.
For the second problem
Check if ORACLE_SID environment variable is set and if it is set is it set to correct value
ERROR: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist Process ID: 0 Session ID: 0 Serial number: 0
set ORACLE_SID if not set correctly set ORACLE_SID=orcl
Start the OracleServiceORCL first, check if the database is opened properly. After that, try to restart the console service.
Try this sequence :
1- Start the OracleService which starts you database : Typically OracleServiceorcl
2- Start the TNS Service : typically OracleOraHome_dbhome1_TNSListener (Or Something like that)
3- Start the DBConsole service : OracleDBConsoleorcl
This is the error that i got in the command prompt... How do i solve the problem... Please help... I am new to computer coding.. Kindly help with a detailed description...
ORA-01261: Parameter db_recovery_file_dest destination string cannot be translated
ORA-01263: Name given for file destination directory is invalid
OSD-04018: Unable to access the specified directory or device.
O/S-Error: (OS 2) The system cannot find the file specified.

Trying to startup your database using pfile
Again, PLEASE DO NOT RESURRECT AND HIJACK OLD AND DEAD THREADS.
Use a new thread that you own and that will be seen by all forum members to describe your problem. If you feel value can be added to an old thread when describing your problem, by all means add a URL to your posting.
However, resurrecting an old thread and hijacking it for getting a resolution for your problem is not acceptable in on-line forums like these.
