I've searched online and the documentation but I can't find an answer for this.
If you open a Create Table dialog you will see 11 panes: including the "Column Sequences" pane. But if you open a Edit Table dialog there are only 10 panes!
I wasted a lot of time, trying to understand why I didn't see the Column Sequences pane in my SQL Developer, when I opened a Create Table dialog, and understood that this pane is not available in the Edit Table dialog.
What if you want to create a sequence after you created the table? Is this a bug?
I installed Oracle Database 11g Express Edition yesterday and encountered this exact same problem while working through "SQL Developer Tutorial: Creating Objects for a Small Database" which is available in the SQL Developer Help topics.
I have searched through the forums but have not found an answer for how to get access to the "Column Sequences" pane when editing, as opposed to creating, a table.
Does anyone know how to get access to the "Column Sequences" pane when editing a table?
The Edit Table dialog has been reworked for the next release of SQL Developer. The Columns section includes a way to classify a column as an Identity Column with a type of Column Sequence, and associate a sequence and a trigger with it. Not sure what the schedule for the next release will be, though.
Hope this helps,
