    BAM

    YE
      I just install SOA Suite 11g and configure it. But where is the BAM and whatis its port number?

          You need to check that you want it installed during install time. You also need to make sure the bam managed server is started. This can be checked in the admin console under the link services.

          Default BAM listens on port 9001.

          cheers

            During domain configuration, make sure that you have selected BAM and entered details of BAM data source.

            If this is done, start the BAM managed server from console/em (If node manager is running), else use startManagedWeblogic script. The default server name will be bam_server1 and it listens on port 9001.

            BAM Url: http://host:port/OracleBAM

              Thank you for your response.

              I can login em and the BAM is down. How to start the BAM?

                Baskar Mookkan-Oracle
                There are three ways:

                Method 1:
                ======
                1. Navigate to your $DOMAIN_HOME/bin directory.
                2. Run ./startManagedWeblogic.sh/cmd bam_server1

                This will start your BAM managed server.

                Method 2:
                =======
                1. Navigate to $SOA_ORACLE_HOME/common/bin.
                2. Execute setNMProps.sh/cmd
                3. Navigate to $WL_HOME/server/bin.
                4. Run startNodeManager.sh/cmd
                5. Login to EM. Expand Weblogic Domain.
                6. Select bam_server1. From the Weblogic Server menu -> Control -> Startup. (Alternatively, right click on the server name and do the same operation from the context menu).

                Method 3:
                =======
                1. Navigate to $SOA_ORACLE_HOME/common/bin.
                2. Execute setNMProps.sh/cmd
                3. Navigate to $WL_HOME/server/bin.
                4. Run startNodeManager.sh/cmd
                5. Login to WLS Admin Console.
                6. Navigate to Servers. Click on Control tab.
                7. Select bam_server1. Select Start.

                    You have provided incorrect login credentials, you should use the same login used to connect to the WLS console.

                    cheers

                        This is a bit more serious. You will probably need to reinstall, unless your MDS is down. If your MDS is up then something went wrong in the installation.

                        During the SOA configuration, there is a screen called "Configure JDBC Component Schema". In this screen, it is allowed (but not recommended) to assign a single schema owner to all of the SOA schemas. The schema ownership should not be changed on this screen. The Repository Creation Utility (RCU) creates the schemas and assigns ownership. Therefore, during the SOA configuration, the ownership should not be changed. If the ownership is changed, SOA components will attempt to query certain database tables using the wrong schema owner.

                        Therefore

                        1. Perform the installation and configuration again.
                        2. Do not change the schema owners in the JDBC Component Schema page.

                        cheers

                          Hi,

                          Thanks for your reply. What's the MDS? Is it installed by RCU? How to know it is not down?

                            Metadata Data Store.

                            Yes it is installed by RCU.

                            Easiest way is by using SQLPlus which should come part of your DB install.

                            cheers
