Link Protection causes form submit fails

Hi, we are believing that link protection in some email clients causes the click on a form submit leads to a fail. The link starts with: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/

I can share the complete url, but I would rather not share that publicly.

I am looking for a general explanation and solution how such link protection is causing errors and what would be a solution from our end.
