Reporting on Dynamic Content

We would love to leverage Dynamic Content more but come to a road block when it comes to reporting. There is no easy way to report on Dynamic Content (ie who received what content and which content is preforming best). The only work around is using segments to see who should have received content A vs B but this is not scalable. Getting the data into insights would allow for us to adopt Dynamic Content in more of our campaigns and programs.

Can you give a rough timeline for this one as well? We have been asking for this for over 6 months and have been told the whole time it will be in the next couple releases. More info would be great.

Thamina- It's wonderful to hear that this reporting is forthcoming! In the meantime, can you describe what reporting is available today for emails with dynamic content? For example, if we use Dynamic Content within an email, then run an Email Clickthrough Link Breakdown report for a single email or selection of emails, will the resulting report include clicks on dynamic content elements within the email(s) selected? Will it include only the clicks on the Dynamic Content that occurred within the selected emails and exclude those clicks on the same Dynamic Content element outside of the selected email(s)? When running an Email Analysis Overview report, will the reported click rates factor in clicks on Dynamic Content elements that were included in the selected emails for the specified date range?

Not having reporting on dynamic content is an incentive to not use it.
The first answer mentioned it as a "high priority" and there was no update in more than a year...

I was shocked to see that this is still unavailable. Such a highly valued piece rendered unusable.
So if I have 5 different offers, I now have to build 5 different emails if I want to understand their activity...

This effort required coordination across multiple teams within Eloqua, as it involved collecting data we didn't previously store for reporting. We now have that data being collected, and have started coding the actual report. Please stay tuned to the Release Center for additional upcoming info.

This will be a great update, not only will it improve the simple ability to analyse and understand which content is working, but by being able to report at that level it means that customer journeys built in Eloqua that currently use multiple versions of an email in several steps just so we can report on them, can now be consolidated into the single email with dynamic content, which is how it should be! Super excited.

Is there any update on the new release?
We've been using dynamic content in our emails to have tens of versions, however reporting has become a real challenge now for segment driven dynamic content. We need a solution ASAP.

Can you confirm that the reporting solution you're building will work across Dynamic Content in Emails, Landing pages and External landing pages as per Embedding dynamic content in an external landing page

Hi Ronan,
The initial Dynamic Content report is focused on emails. Specifically, email opens.
We are reviewing adding this reporting for other areas, no commitments on that as of now.

We've been waiting for Dynamic Content tracking for a while now. We use it heavily on our emails, however, we can't prove success due to lack of click reporting. We hope to see progress in development very very soon!

Hi @claudiazoglmann,
Dynamic Content doesn't have versioning. Meaning that whatever the dynamic content is currently saved as is what it is. The reporting will reflect the same - the dynamic content will be attributed in the reporting as the dynamic content existed in that time range.

Thanks @JazmineDuke-Oracle, but I was refering to the values driving a dynamic content rule, e.g. a certain contact field value which may change over time.
Will reporting show the dynamic content rule related to the historic field value on the day of the email open or rather the dynamic content rule related to the current field value (like with email web versions)?

The reporting will identify the dynamic content rule used. The reporting won't be granular to the level of what the dynamic content rule is composed of.

The reporting will include email opens within email clients as well as web versions, I suppose? If so, will it be able to distinguish the two?
Otherwise, the persistent issue of email web versions utilizing the current field value to determine the dynamic content rule will have a negative impact on the report.

This request have been raised from 2011 and now we are in 2018. Crossing my finger and wondering if we have a timeline for the launch of this particular feature.
As dynamic content can not utilized fully if there have been no reporting and this is something that we needed for every other client.
Appreciate your response regarding the launch of the feature or current status.
