Question about elqTrackID in URLs

I’m currently migrating various individual emails (which are in many languages) to dynamic content. Thankfully, these were created using the HTML editor, so it’s a fairly simple (if not tedious) process of copying & pasting the body of the email into the dynamic content editor.
My one concern is regarding the URLs: when pasting the HTML into the dynamic content editor, it’s including the elqTrackID from the original email. If I delete the elqTrackID from the link in the Dynamic Content and hit Save, it generates a brand new one.
Will leaving the elqTrackID query string from the original email cause a problem with reporting, or should I scrub all of the links of their original elqTrackIDs?
All help is appreciated!

Hi seangearhart88,
Leaving the elqTrackID query string from the original email should not cause any problem. When a hyperlinked object is duplicated, the elqTrackID parameter will be duplicated as well. To differentiate between such similar links, Oracle Eloqua will refer to a combination of the elqTrackId, Asset id and Asset Type.
Details can be found in the official documentation here - https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/marketing/eloqua-user/Help/EloquaAsynchronousTrackingScripts/EloquaTrackingParameters.htm
"Once a parameter is appended to a link, Oracle Eloqua does not revise or remove it. This means that if an asset is generated from a template (for example, the Save As function), then the included elqTrackId will not change. To differentiate between such similar links, Oracle Eloqua will refer to a combination of the elqTrackId and the AssetId (see below)."
Thanks,
Arvind
