Saved searches dynamic filtering?

I got a pretty good question that a colleague of mine brought up to me. She was wondering if its possible to create dynamic filters for saved searches? Best way to explain it is with an example:
We have a saved search that returns purchase orders for our different projects, so we can keep track of what has been received, what we are waiting on, what is late, etc. Based off of this, we also split our purchasing into production plans, so we can prioritize what needs to come in first and whats not as urgent.
So, for example, I could have:
