How to void item receipt?

I'm wondering if there is a way to to void a receipt rather than deleting/changing it? Without doing a RMA. It seems that there is no built-in capability to void an Invoice Receipt (IR). I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or recommendations you may have on this matter
