Integrating Google Gemini with NetSuite to Auto-Fill Fields (External AI Sourcing)

Hi everyone,

I’m exploring the possibility of integrating Google Gemini (or similar AI models) with NetSuite to automatically populate record fields using data sourced from outside NetSuite.

Use case:

  • Sending data (e.g., item name, SKU, or description) from NetSuite to an external AI (Gemini API)
  • Processing/enriching the data externally (e.g., generating descriptions, categorization, attributes)
  • Returning the response and automatically filling specific fields in NetSuite records (Items, Opportunities, etc.)

What I’m trying to understand:

  1. What is the best approach for this integration?
    • SuiteScript (RESTlet / Suitelet)?
    • Middleware (Node.js, Python, etc.)?
  2. Has anyone successfully integrated Gemini (or OpenAI) with NetSuite?
