SRP and Resource Management

Hi,

We are a small PS firm that wants to better use SRP and Resource Management.

Would appreciate if anyone can point to some resources on best practice other than the LCS which after taking it, seemed a bit more focused on the configuration and mechanics of the module. We'd like some better insight into how our PMs and operations should/could be doing better.

One question I had was around planned time. If planned time rolls forward and is only consumed by actual time on a task, why both with resource allocation at all? It seems like a redundant exercise.
