Picking Component Items for Work Orders

Hi Gurus,

We are attempting to set up WMS in one of our subsidiaries and are running into challenges with using the Netsuite WMS to drive work order picking activities.

We noticed the note in SuiteAnswers article 87272 "Note: If you use the Manufacturing Routing and Work Center feature, you cannot use the mobile device to pick component items or build assembly items for work orders associated with routings." This seems to be directly affecting our ability to use the mobile app to drive work order picking, as we use routing on our work orders.

My question is: Why is this not working/allowed? What would be the alternative? How is the WMS designed to support work order picking for customers also using the Manufacturing Routing and Work Center?
