Financial Reports via a script?

So with 90 subsidiaries... life is complicated!

Tax people want a general ledger report (as that does the consolidations) run daily and put on an external folder - could be filing cabinet.

I know we can schedule reports but that is only to email them to a user.

I have created a financial report that I would like to be able to call it via a restlet or a script or anything... What are our options? It seems all the focus is on saved searches. But as we all know saved searches are not great in consolidated numbers due to CTA etc.
