Tasks - Inline Editing of Comments

Hi,

I would like to be able to edit inline the column named COMMENT which is under the Message TAB within a task, I have a dashboard widget for the tasks list, and directly updating the COMMENT box would save me so much time, is this possible, please?

There is no pencil icon against it, is this just a setting somewhere?
