Recording Non-Production Scrap

The majority of our scrap gets reported through Advanced Manufacturing during the manufacturing processes, however some product scrap occurs outside of that construct. For example, product might be damaged during material handling. The scrap that gets into the system through AM gets the inventory and financial adjustments and feeds into scrap reports. Is there some way to achieve similar effects through an alternative scrap reporting methodology, outside of production reporting?
