Back order field on Packing slip PDF/HTML Template

I'm trying to show the Back Order field from the Sales Order item on the Packing Slip HTML Template so that when printed people know how many products will be delivered on a later date.

I'm trying to use the field $tranline.quantityremainingdisplay but it keeps reporting back empty.

Am I using the correct ID (quantityremainingdisplay) or is there another way to show how many products are in back order?
