How many custom record types and customer records can you create?

Hi team!

I have a question from a partner:

"What is the maximum number of Custom Records that can be created and how do Custom Records impact the total storage space?"

Assuming they're all of one Custom Record Type, but I am also curious if the number of different Record Types would have an impact as well.
