Chart of Accounts change layout

Is there a way to change the layout of the Chart of Accounts registers?

We would like to seperate the account numbers from the names in a seperate column but i'm unsure if this is possible and what the consequenses would be in a live environment.


For Example: List -> Accounting -> Accounts ->
