Can we transfer transactions of an existing Customer to a new Customer?

edited Nov 25, 2022 5:07PM in Ask A Guru 3 comments

We are using parent/child customer relationship. We are wanting to move away from this by inactivating the parent/child customers and creating new customers. My question is that some of the child customers have open transactions. Is it possible to move the transactions to the new customer? Will this cause any issues? Or can we inactive the customer, but still record payment once received?

When I try to update the customer, I receive this error, "Changing the customer will cause a mismatch with the customer of the part numbers used on this transaction. If you proceed with the update, you can also change the customer of the part numbers on the item record. Do you want to continue?"

Howdy, Stranger!
