How to set up a Saved Search that results to records without the necessary Custom Record attached?

I am wanting to create a saved search that can look into a sub-table for a specific type of record and identify those cases where it is missing.

Main Table Record 100

----Sub-Table Record A

----Sub-Table Record C

----Sub-Table Record D

Need search to include Main Table Record 100 because it is missing a Sub-Table Record B and exclude other records that do have Record B.

I have looked at various ways to achieve this and I have not found anything that works. Ideas?
