How to source fields on a Promotion record linked via the Free Gift Promotion Line Item Field?

Hi There

I have a custom field on a Suitepromotion record:

I am trying to source the value of this on a custom column on a sales order record.

How would I do that?

I have tried to reference the field id :

on a custom transaction line field:

though this returns an error.
