What is the NetSuite Support Center role?

I just assigned myself the NetSuite Support Center role, but the help center is pretty vague about what its purpose is and it doesn't appear as a selectable role that I can swap to (I've made sure to log in and out). It also doesn't appear to be a role that I'm allowed to edit in any way.
