no able to update Costing Method field

Hi,

When we create an item we can select any option on the Costing Method field. But if we made a mistake and want to select another option the Costing Method field is grayed out.

We have to delete and recreate the item to be able to select other option?

I tried to do a csv import to update the field but it doesn't work.

Anybody knows the trick?
