Creating New NetSuite Process to Track and access details of fulfilled Sales Requests...

I am working on a processin Netsuite that, while not exactly "Sales Orders" in the traditional sense, but enables us to track and access the details of fulfilled sales requests for future reference. I am thinking of using a "task" to create the submission form and using NetSuite to generate a unique id to act as an identifier for the item installation across all departments.
