How to trigger a workflow when an item has changes in stock quantity?

Is it possible to make a workflow on an item where the workflow is triggered by the change in available stock. This could change as the result of an order or by receiving goods or a stock adjustment.


I have been trying to get this to work, I can only get the work flow to trigger if i edit the item which is not the way I want to do it.
