Where are Non-Current assets supposed to be recorded?

I have noticed in the list of available account types, there is no selection for 'non-current assets' despite this being in the list of account types on a Netsuite blog post:
I would assume if I had a long term investment that will not be converted to cash within 12 months, that this will be recorded as a "fixed asset"?
However, another Netsuite blog post seems to imply that fixed assets is only used for tangible assets such as PPE
