Import historical data for only one subsidiary

My customer created a new UK subsidiary and they need to import 7 years of historical data. I would like to know which would be the best way to work on it, considering that we will need to reopen periods. Would be a good ideia to create another fiscal calendar and assign only to this subsidiary? would this calendar consolidate to the whole company? I mean, I would do it in order to avoid opening 7 years back to all subsidiaries. Any suggestions? thank you
