Searching across multiple product types

I'm working to import some inventory from a separate system into NetSuite with the Rest API. Before creating the product in NetSuite, I need to search for it to make sure it doesn't already exist. However, in NetSuite, there are lots of different types of products. Examples below. My question is "Do I have to search for the product in every single possibility of product type, or can I search by name across all types of products?"

  • InventoryItem
  • NonInventoryItem
  • nonInventoryResaleItem
  • nonInventorySaleItem
  • ServiceItem
  • Etc
