Purchase Order Attached to Sales Order

Hello! My team is looking to create a purchase order in NetSuite before the related sales order is created. Once the sales order is created the behavior in our tool is for the PO to be auto-generated, but instead we want to be able to select the original, manually created PO. Is this possible?
