Does turning off/on Drop Ship Item affect historical transactions?

Hi Gurus,

Can't seem to find an answer to this one, but does turning off Drop Ship Item affect historical transactions, or does it only affect future transactions?

For example, if I turn off Drop Ship Item on an Item, will Drop Shipment POs for that Item on previous SOs disappear? And vice versa, if I turn on Drop Ship Item on an Item, will POs suddenly be created for historical SOs with that item?
