Unapproved Journal Entries

Hi Community,

We are using the standard journal approval in NetSuite. We have created custom role/s for creator and approver. However, we want our approver role to be able unapproved as well but this can only be done when we change the permission for "Make Journal Entries" from "View" to "Edit" and this permission is also allowing the approver to create journal which is not intended for the role. Is there a workaround for Approver role to unapproved journals without the " Edit" permission? Thank you
