Can I trigger a script by adding a file to a folder?

I want to run a scheduled script whenever a file is added to a particular folder in the file cabinet.

I noticed that Folder is a record type that can be used for User Event scripts, so is it possible to use this as the trigger for the scheduled script?
Adding files to a folder isn't considered as updating the folder though I don't think, so I'm not sure how I could achieve this.
File is also a scriptable record type but only in Search, not view, edit, create or delete. So creating a new file to a particular folder also can't be used as a trigger I don't think.
