Flag to Identify Changes in Transaction Data Upon Save

I am looking for a way to determine whether transaction data has changed when a user saves the record. This requirement applies only to Edit scenarios.

Currently, I have a script that creates a scheduled task on both Create and Edit. However, I do not want the scheduled task to run if posting-related data has not changed, as this can be costly for large transactions.
