'Approved by' values disappeared

I'm trying to show the created by field and a customer transaction field 'Approved by' (id = custbody_f5_approved_by) in a saved transaction search. The 'Approved by' field was not showing any values in the output and I wasn't sure if it was the correct field. A google search advised to tick the 'stored value' box on the transaction body field record (see below). Now when I look at any of the existing journal entries the approved by value is missing. 

When I go to untick the box it shows the following error. This didn't pop up when I initially ticked the box. I'm worried the approved by values now been deleted? Unfortunately I have down this in production - is there any way to restore?
