Item Costing Method and Effect on Commissions

Hello,

This is going to be lengthy, so please stick with me.

We have a rebate agreement with one of our manufacturers. A customer will receive special price as well as a special cost. The special cost cannot flow through at the transaction level; it must be the cost in the warehouse that ships the product.

We are being told our custom process does not work when the Costing Method on an item record is set to Average, but it works when the Costing Method is set to Lot Numbered. I would like to know if it is true, based on the process I will outline below.
