Communications -messages going out sporadically or potentially not at all

I have a DUE SOON message set to go out 3 days before an LP is due but  since I didnt copy my training account don't know if they are going out .. well, a user has reported it NOT going out.  Anyone know how i can check when messages go out without having to copy my training account on all emails?

For recurring, I'm having occasional users getting the message AFTER the due date (i.e. should've been due on 1/10/18 but message goes out 1/18/18 but the target date for the LP is set for the correct date, 1/10/18).  I do copy myself on the renewal messages because I have to remove their ILT completion to force them to get a demonstration checklist signed off and submitted at which time I grant the credit for the ILT again.  The problem with the messaging is not happening with ALL users, just some.  I had "honor" previous completions when I assigned the users
