How to gain user buy in and increase communication with Close Manager

We are currently implanting our monthly close process into Oracle Close Manager. The setups and testing has gone well but we are still faced with some challenges.
1. How did you sell Close Manager to gain user buy in? I think the organization, workflow, and close binder are great features but how did you sell this to the business who may be more resistant and would rather send an email instead of logging in and checking a box. Some currently view Close Manager more as a burden than a benefit.
2. How did you use Close Manager to increase collaboration & increase communication within your organization? We would like to use Close Manager as a communication tool for all Close related communication but are currently struggling with how this could be possible. Example, if a user needs to send an urgent message they will use a messenger outside of close manager to contact a user immediately about something related to close. I have tested the alert feature but it does not seem to send an immediate email to the user with the message. Could you please share some perspective on
