I am involved in an FCCS implementation for a client moving from HFM. In HFM the client uses Submission Phases. We have tried to discourage the use phases, but the client is still very keen on them and we are thinking of workarounds. We have the following ideas.

Security

Security is attached to members of the Data Source dimension. Phase X data can be loaded to the phase X member which can then be locked centrally using security. The drawback of this workaround are:

• Data can only be locked for all entities. It would be possible to lock individual entities, but this would become a full-time job during month end and would slow down the close process.
