Typing members into formula bar returns error (in Reporting Web Studio)

Sometimes, entering a member into the formula bar directly returns an "invalid member" error message

Sometimes, but not all the times, and I have yet to understand the logic behind this, trying to change or add a member directly in the formula bar instead of going through the member selection dialog, will return an "invalid member" error. Does anybody know why this happens or has made the same experience?
