This new feature, external partitioned table, creates the ability to query multiple data files in the Object Store as a single external table where the Object Store files can be represented as multiple logical partitions.

The key benefit of using external partitioning tables is improved query performance - when the external data is partitioned into separate slices/parts, query response time is faster when processing only a small part of the data instead of having to scan the entire data set.
