When we moved to responsive transaction pages for Promote, Transfer, etc - we saw that changing an employee's department was automatically updating their line manager to be the new department manager.  We did not think that was too big an issue at first... but after a few weeks in use, we've come to realize that it is indeed undesirable for us to have that happening.

First, if a person did not select the Managers checkbox on the "What info do you want to manage?" screen, then they do not really see that the manager did in fact change, although they do receive the warning that the new department manager has replaced the current line manager. They also cannot correct or change it at that point without starting over to select that Managers box.
