How to send TransmissionAck to OTM

We have written a python program which extracts failed transmissions from OTM through DB.XML and sends the data to an EBS staging table after transformation. Now we want to update the status of these transmissions by sending a TransmissionAck XML to OTM through our program. How this can be performed? Is it possible through DB.XML?
