Is there a way to revert a project to its originating status after workflow approval has been reject

When we enabled a project status for workflow it is mandatory to specify a status if the workflow is approved, and a status if the workflow is rejected (see screenshot).

However, consider the following scenario. We have two project statuses, "Draft Status 1" and "Draft Status 2". Each of these statuses are allowed to transition to the workflow status "Submitted". If the workflow is approved, the next status (in both cases) is "Approved". However, if the workflow is rejected, we want the project status to return to the originating status i.e. "Draft Status 1" or "Draft Status 2" as appropriate.

Given that the "Submitted" status mandates a single rejected status, I do not believe the requirement can be satisfied, in which case I'll raise an ER e.g. to request that the Status After Change Rejected column can be left blank, in which case the workflow returns the project to the pre-workflow status.
